Minute To Win It Party

Matthew and I decided to host a Minute To Win It party and invite some close friends on Saturday night and had such a fun time. We invited Jeremy and his wife Kristin and their amazing little girl Brynlee as well as Marshall and his wife Nancy. We had so much fun doing crazy things and laughing at each other all night. I work with Jeremy and Marshall and that is how we all met. We all worked together Saturday during the day and then decided to go see Wreck-It Ralph before the festivities began. It was a cute movie AND it was in the cheap theaters! This is a win all around! After the movie, we rushed home to get the final touches ready for the party and waited for everyone to show up. Everyone got there and we got ready to play! If you know me you know that I LOVE planning and hosting parties - hense me majoring in event coordination! Anyway, I had the best time planning this party and researching all the games out there in the minute to win it world. It was seriously so much fun. We played all kinds of different games and I realized how UN-toddler proof our apartment was. Cute little Brynlee went to town on our place, but nothing was hurt or broken so we didnt mind. Matthew is completely in love with her and she knows it, she has him wrapped TIGHT around her cute little fingers. It is so sweet to watch. He even says that he hopes we have a girl first now which blew me away and melted my heart at the same time.

All in all, we had a great night with close friends and really enjoyed ourselves. It is times like this that I realize how great our friends really are and how blessed we are to have friends at all. It is so fun being with the one you love and being with friends just laughing and having a great time. These memories will be with us forever and are one of the reasons I will be sad to eventually have to leave Rexburg. We really do have some of the most amazing friends around!!

Merry Christmas 2012

Matthew and I had the most amazing Christmas together this year. This is our third Christmas as a married couple but our very first one alone with just ourselves. It was a great way for us to catch up and get to know each other again without all the hastles of getting ready to travel somewhere. It was seriously so much fun. We decided to have a $50 limit on spending and had to include at least one home made present for each other. It was a fun experience getting creative for each other and coming up with ideas. Our Christmas tree was the most beautiful tree I have ever had. I am really surprised at myself because I am so OCD about things and since our tree was not "perfect" I was worried it would bother me, but I actually LOVE it! I am heart broken to get rid of it to be perfectly honest.

So we woke up at 9:30 to open presents. Actually Matthew woke up at 6, but I was not about to get out of bed at that time so we waited patiently for me. And by patiently, I mean he stared at me while I slept!! We finally got up and had fun taking turns opening our presents for each other. We saved our home made presents for last and I have to say that I was so impressed by Matthew's present that he made for me. We welded some horse shoes to look like a heart with a stand and painted it red. It looks so cute in our living room. I got a shadow box frame and painted it to say "I Love You Because..." so that we could write why we love each other every day and change it as many times as we like. We had a great time!

Then we skyped with my grandmother and opened the presents that she sent to us and called Matthew's family and spoke with them for a while. Something neither of us have done before was go to the movies on Christmas, but we decided to go on a fun double date with our good friends Jeremy and Kristin and their aborable little girl Brynlee at 1 for a matinee movie. We decided to watch the movie Life of Pi and we really enjoyed it. I cried...not that it is much of a surprise to anyone who knows me, but I did.

Matthew's favorite part of the day was the dinner part. We cooked a very yummy meal which consisted of cube steak and gravy, homemade mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, a medley of vegetables, rolls and a salad. We were stuffed with deliciousness and watched our new Disney movies for the rest of the night. It was one of those days that we decided Heaven would be like and were perfectly content cuddling to Disney for the rest of forever!

We are so grateful for the time that we had together to just relax and have an amazing day together. We are so grateful for our loving Heavenly Father and the sacrifice that our Savior and brother Jesus Christ has given us. I am so happy for the blessings that my family has to be together forever and look forward to all that will come of our lives in the future.

Prepping for Christmas

We are so excited to be spending Christmas in our very own apartment this year. We decided to spend this Christmas with each other and do our own thing this year. We are making our own traditions and having a lot of "firsts" together this year. It has been so much fun so far and we are really excited for Christmas to finally get here!

Anniversary Trip

Matthew and I had an amazing vacation for our one year anniversary. We headed up to island park to a beautiful cabin in the woods where we could "get away" for a while. It was so nice to get back to us with no distractions of work or school. We got to catch up on why we love each other again and the reasons that we got married. It was a needed vacation and we had a really great time.
