Memory Lane

Well it has been a week down memory lane in the Larson home, and we could not be happier. It was our 2 year anniversary yesterday and we had so much fun celebrating in Rexburg since we are not off for thanksgiving break yet. I love this time of year for so many reasons, that is why we chose to get married in November. It is just such a beautiful time with everything changing around you. I was endowed on November 18th, had my reception on November 19th, and was sealed to Matthew in the Manti, Utah Temple on November 20th.

So when those days role around we always like to play the “what were we doing 2 years ago” game and reminisce on the feelings and emotions that we had on those 3 amazing and crazy days. I really cannot believe that it has already been 2 years that we have been married. I am so happy to still have the same love and chemistry for him that I did when we got married. I would actually say that we love each other more now since we have grown so much together since marriage. We have so much fun together and I am so excited at the prospect of our future. On Saturday, we got our annual family pictures taken and they are so beautiful. I love watching us grow in this way and I think it will be a great way to look back at how we change as time goes on and something great to leave our children. Not to mention evidence to them that we were young once too!

Then we went to this really fun basketball game thrown by the Rexburg Rotary Club. They played this organization called the Harlem Ambassadors. You can find more information out about them here. They are a trick team kind of like the Harlem Globetrotters, but they promote “getting a degree, and staying drug free.” I think that is so important in this day and age for the youth to know and understand how great that really it and these amazing basketball players are proof that it can be done. On the Rotary Club team they had cops, teachers, and students all playing together. They were really fun to watch. Matthew and I were dying laughing the whole time. At the end of every quarter, they had kids come down and play a game with them and interact with each other, and win prizes of course. They also had really fun things that they would do during the game. Every quarter, when there were 20 seconds left, they would make this formation and just pass the ball back and forth between the 3 of them and not let anyone take the ball and then with only seconds left, they would pass it to another player and dunk it for 2 points. They also interacted with the other players really funny. They would trick dribble between their legs until someone came up to them and then they would grab the ball and dance to the music or something. They always paired the tallest player with the Rotary Club’s shortest player so he would just stand up and win the ball toss every time. What got Matthew and I laughing the most though was when one of the Harlem Ambassadors bounding the ball of the his opponents head. He was charging him to go to the basket and the Rotary Club guy came up to defend. It was the funniest thing that I have even seen I swear! The guy was so in shock and just stood there while the Ambassador dunked it. It was hilarious. All in all we were really happy that we went and supported the Madison school district.

For our actual anniversary day we really did not do anything special since we have this whole weekend get a way planned for after thanksgiving. We got our pictures back so we were able to post those and get some printed for around the house. We went to Applebee’s which is one of the only not fast food places in Rexburg and then came home and watched a funny movie. I will say Applebee’s does have my all-time favorite dessert though, the blondie. It is so delicious and amazing! All in all, it was a great night and I get to be happily married to my hubby and best friend, Matthew!

Health Update

It was too good to be true I guess. I was hyperthyroid and was in line to have radiation done to kill my thyroid. Then a miracle happened and it regulated to self back out and we were so excited! And of course that would not last long enough and not I have gone the other direction and am now hypothyroid. This is still a much better alternative to hyper so I guess I will take what I can get. Of course with hyper I was supposed to basically be dropping weight by the hour but never lost a pound, so why when I get hypo would I suppose the same kindness of not receiving symptoms stay the same. Oh no! I have gained like 10 pounds overnight and feel miserable. I have to take medicine every day for the rest of my life and have blood tests every 6 weeks. This is all still way better than radiation though, so I will take it with a smile on my face. It stinks that I was just finally getting out of the woods of all the doctor visits and got my clean bill of health again and not 2 months later they revoked it and I am starting all over with this thing! I am really sad and depressed and upset about all of this. I feel like the rug got pulled out from under my feet all of a sudden. I just want to be healthy and normal and get back to life the way it was before I knew everyone at the clinic by name and had constant holes in my arms. Well, lucky for me I have the most amazing and supportive husband in all the world and he has held my hand on most days and held me up on all the others. And lucky for me, we will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary next week. We are thrilled to be getting out of Rexburg and cannot wait to be alone for a few days with no job or school or anything distracting us from each other. I love him so much. We are getting our annual family pictures taken on saturday and we finally picked out the outfits for the shoot. I can't wait to add them to the blog on our photo timeline thingy. We have really liked getting our pictures taken at the same time every year. Granted we have only done it three time now, but we can already see how much we have grown and changed and we think it will be really fun to watch the years go by and see our family get bigger and happier along the way.
